Lessons Carol passes on all her years of
experience on a one to one basis at our shop by appointment. Carol also
conducts Basic Spinning or Weaving Workshops for Spinning and Weaving Groups
and if you would like to have one of these workshops for your group Email Carol to obtain all the particulars.
Carol
will provide demonstrations and workshops on DRUM CARDING which includes: ·
Maintenance; ·
Basic Drum Carding; and ·
Drum Carding Projects. And, one of Carol’s most popular demonstrations is “Maintenance of the Spinning Wheel”. SPINNING LESSONS

It is an
advantage to have your own wheel as there is homework to do. Carol will teach
you to spin in 2 to 3 lessons. These lessons take place at our shop and are
on a one to one basis. You will be taken through the rudiments of the craft
to the stage where you can spin and ply yarn suitable for a variety of uses.
You will also learn how to look after and maintain your spinning wheel and
prepare fleece for spinning. § The current charge is $15.00 an hour (1 lesson) and it normally takes 2 to 3 lessons to begin producing acceptable yarn. §

WEAVING
LESSONS §
If you have
always wanted to learn to weave or you wish to brush up on the skills you may
have learnt at school Carol is the person to see. It is an advantage to have
your own loom as there is plenty to do at home. Carol will take you through
the rudiments of weaving from preparing your warp to finishing off your
completed article. Weaving is a more complex craft than spinning and the
number of lessons depends on how complex you wish to weave. All lessons are
at the shop and are on a one to one basis. § The current charge is $15.00 an hour (1 lesson) and it may take a number of lessons to become proficient depending on the standard you wish to meet. §
